18th West Coast Plato Workshop

The Department of Philosophy at UC San Diego

The West Coast Plato Workshop brings together scholars from all over the world to discuss a particular Platonic dialogue or theme.

This year, the workshop will be dedicated to recent research on the First Alcibiades, a key Platonic dialogue on self-knowledge, love, justice, the nature of the soul, and other important topics. Professors Cinzia Arruzza (Boston University) and Fiona Leigh (University College, London) will give the keynote lectures.

The workshop will take place May 16-18, 2025, at UC San Diego. Please see the program below for details of the talks.
